Who Watches the Watchmen?

And we are back, would like to thank you again for joining us here at my blog.

The reason I liked Watchmen had to do with the fact that it's how superheroes would really exist in our twisted reality of life. Sad really but just be viewing America's political climate we know it's true. Hence that's why Rorchach was the most noble of them all, a man willing to die for his convictions towards the truth.

Sermon yesterday: God used a naive but well intentioned kid to walk into a New Orleans strip club just to tell a Jewish stripper whose routine included snakes that Jesus loved. Guess what, it worked. Score one for unconventional ways that God works.

It's hard out here for...

When we see the mountains before us, often times we wish they would just move out of the way so that we can continue on our pilgrimage. Even when at first we think we can easily just climb over, we start to see the trek is steeper than we first started.

As beings we all have our own stories to tell, each unique only because it's told from our individual perspective. Granted not everyone wants to listen or give us a chance to hear what we have to say, which can make it frustrating.

But the voyage must continue, despite watching others turn back and wanting to do the same. Yet the desire that sparked the journey still stirs within.

To All The Girls I've Loved Before

To all the girls I've loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I've loved before

To all the girls I once caressed
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To all the girls I've loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls who shared my life
Who now are someone else's wives
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I've loved before

To all the girls who cared for me
Who filled my nights with ecstasy
They live within my heart
I'll always be a part
Of all the girls I've loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls we've loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We're glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we've loved before

To all the girls we've loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We're glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we've loved before

Gentleman Superman: a son's battle cry.

When you are so far away I feel so helpless
unable to rescue the woman who kept me from harm countless time.
The strains of seasons past have made her weary,
as the trials before her press in.

Mommy, mommy I cry out ready to leap into action
but she calls me off, telling me to continue on my journey.
A journey that itself has had it's share of valleys and obstacles.
The slings and the arrows that come against me,
the doubt that tries to creep upon on mind.

I drop to me knees weak,
to wield the greatest power on Earth.
I beg for the mountain to move,
I cry out for the pilgrimage to speed up.
I stand alone, friends have come and gone
while others focus on their own battles.

Yet the Spirit of God stirs in me,
providing strength and vision when I lose my way.
Shining a light through me,
in spite of myself.
Embodying a harbinger;
a jester for joy
a rock for others during this time of crisis.

Mommy mommy look at me,
I am who you raised me to be.
A gentleman for those who've never been valued,
a superman for those in need.
